The presentation of the Cyprus problem as an obstacle in the way of Turkeys accession process, the EU has disregarded the international agreements. By turning a blind eye to the inhumane acts of Greek Cypriots and accepting their administration in EU they behaved as if the Turkish Cypriots did not have the right to elect and be elected, therefore the EU has put herself in participant position in those crimes.
The EU could not rectify her mistake just by saying; We have made a mistake by accepting a divided and problematic Cyprus as EU member but unfortunately there is nothing we can do now.
They claim they have acted in good faith hoping that the membership would help the solution of the problem.
The required consensus for the rectification of this problem almost became impossible since Greece, Cyprus and the other member countries that are objecting Turkeys accession and indifference they could say please continue being obedient and unite with Greek Cypriots.
In the face of these realities our duty should not be defensive like a school child who beseechingly says to his teacher My dear teacher I am not the guilty side. The years long Greek Cypriots armed attacks has been transformed in a political attack. In the comfort of becoming a member of EU as Cyprus government, they could shamelessly say to Turkey comply with your obligations, withdraw your army, there is no need for guarantees anymore. Turkish government by accepting the Annan plan and making the TRNC citizens accepting it has brought the Cyprus issue to the level of liking of the Greeks and the Greek Cypriots where at the end the USA could say there is no separate state and sovereignty for Turkish Cypriots.
It must be known by every side that the view of opening our ports to the Greek Cypriots would not mean recognition of the Greek side will not be accepted by those who believe in the national cause. To free ourselves from the perception of the USA would only be possible by changing the constituent state expression to Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic Foundation Member. The two people and two politically equal foundation members is the base of a sustainable solution and this view must be defended until an agreement is reached.
Our thesis (view) of Cyprus has not become a member of EU, as the agreements of 1960 have not changed by the approval of the two concerned sides the Cyprus government could not become a EU member before Turkeys accession must be dynamically defended in every forum and in every possible legal arena.
