SHAME ON YOU BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION BBC
BBC has a web site and in one of the section has a page called Profile of a country Cyprus.
According to those who prepared this page, Turkey that answered to the coup attempt of Athens in the island has divided Cyprus. In this so called informative page there is no information why the i960 Cyprus government that was founded within the accordance of international agreements was destructed by Makarios in 1963; and, since the island was divided in 32 sections and the Turkish population deprived of their rights were forced to live in enclaves representing the 3% area of the island.
It doesnt have the destruction of Cyprus government was because of the ENOSIS that was outlawed by the 1960 establishment agreements either. Neither does it explain that the Green-Line was formed in 1963 and not in 1974.
In other word, if the person/s that have set the web page for BBC was/were not Greek Cypriot he/they must have wiped out the incidents that happened between the years of 1963-1974 off their minds just like the Greek Cypriots; trying to convince the world to believe that the Cyprus problem began after the Turkish intervention in 1974.
Who are those irresponsible people that claim they only are writing the realities on behalf of BBC?
If these people were not Greek Cypriots, who are those people that are putting these untrue and bias informations on the internet pages of BBC?
If it wasnt for a friend who is sympathetic to the Turkish causes this untrue information of BBC would not have come to our notice. Whoever this person/s is serving in Cyprus as representative/s of BBC must be ignorant of Cyprus issue According these reporter/s Turkish Cypriots in the North have proclaimed TRNC that is recognized only by Turkey In this page there is no mention of the 20 year long negotiations between the two people in the island, neither has a note to explain the islands Hellenizing efforts of the Greece/Greek Cypriots duo.
Their only worries were the presence of 30 thousands of Turkish troops; but they are not saying what would have happened to the Turkish Cypriots if that army did not come to save them; or is not saying what were happening in the island by the time that army has arrived. He /they are pretending not knowing about the existence of 80-100 thousands of Greek/Greek Cypriots armed personnel in the South at that time. They also pretend not knowing that the EU membership of the Greek Cypriot administration so called Cyprus republic was a mistake which was admitted by many EU representatives.
They claim also that as the negotiations were going well on track between Talat and Christofias, the election of a nationalist party Eroglou government in 2009, has curtailed the hopes for a solution.
In this case we have the right to ask BBC.
Is this the impartiality of BBC that often brags for broadcasting unbiased news...?
Or, if the reporter/s that lives in the South were not Greek Cypriot/s and not had visited the North, the least he/they could go to trouble to read books regarding the Cyprus issue.
Shame on you BBC!
