Remember that there has been three well published water pollution incidents in the Great Lakes where people died because of a break down in filtering and cleaning water for public consumption:
* Chicago, Illinois over a hundred years ago.
* Milwaukee, Wisconsin in our life times.
* Walkerton, Ontario in the last decade.
There has been hundreds if not thousands of beach closings in the Great Lakes and the ocean in the last ten years.
