Thank you, New York Fan, for helping with the answers. I, too, had read that they met in juvy, but I'd always questioned the validity of that because of how far away the LA juvy is from the one in Oceanside, which is a good 90 minutes from Los Angeles.

I also wonder about both quotes. Who knows if that conversation between Anissa and Helen took place? Or if the "famous person" comment is true, either?

Of all the people there that morning, Helen had the (second) most to lose. It was her house, her father would be coming home to learn that the babysitter died in his bed. Who knows what she would have said in such shock?

From what I gather, Helen's family would like to blame Anissa for Helen's substantial drug problems, perhaps in the same way Paula and Butt Out would like to blame Helen for Anissa's death.

Regardless of who said what and why, two such tragic stories. I do hope someday there are more definitive answers, but I appreciate you both taking the time to respond.
