The best solution is a name like Novomacedonia. Nothing else. It must be a name that clearly separates you from ancient Macedonians whose name humanity cannot change. After all, you have accepted that you are not related to ancient Macedonians.
TRACING ETHNIC ORIGINS
The majority of Greeks are of Greek origin. There is an amount of non-Greek origin people but: getting Hellenized > become hellene > be hellene > nobody should distinguishes me from other Hellenes. Blood and dna are not related to ethnicity.
DIALOGUE ON DIFFERENCES
Our differencies are the source for our conflicts and wars. We shall reduce them within different countries whose borders must be unchangeable. Then those countries shall get united in over-country unions.
Greece is a multi-cultural country by itself. Greeks are Pontian, Cretal, Epirotan, Islander, Peloponnesian, Ionian, Thracian, Cypriot, …. all different! Music, dances, celebrations, …. all different. What gets us united is pride of that campaign that campaign.
Greece has no problem with any of its minorities. All peoples in Greece are free to speak, read, write, teach and learn their language and culture.
It’s true that we Greeks don’t know our neighbors history. But, do they want us to learn their history? I mean, do SlavoSkopians want Greeks awarded of their history? Do Turks want Greeks to know Turkish history in full details? I don’t think so. As you know, we cannot teach our children that Ottoman kidnapping was “witty way of social rise” as CDRSEE claims.
Sorry but truth begins from agreement and leads to acceptance of differences. If we deny elementary and obvious truth then no discussion is possible. I mean, denying Macedonians spread Greek Language and Civilization to the World, that is Macedonians have always been Greeks, is not a good start for truth seeking.

After the end of WWII SlavoSkopians of Greece joined communist forces and fought for political purposes as well for ethnic ones. They wanted Macedonian lad to be annexed with Yugoslavia.
