I thought Crash was wonderful movie. Yes, it was very uncomfortbale to watch, but definitely causes you to think. Here are some of the main characters and thier lives that are explored as the movie unfolds

--------------
A homicide detective (Don Cheadle) that cares for his elderly, drug-addicted mother despite the fact that she is relatively indiffernt to his presence. He makes several stereotypical remarks about his lover being Mexican despite the fact that she is Puerto rican or (Domincan)

A bitter Iranian store keeper (Shaun Toub) who purchases a gun to protect his store from robberies. His own bitterness, distrust, and narrow-mindedness hold him back more than any outsiders. Even after being mistreated at a gun shop, he turns around and mistreats an hispanic locksmith.

An LA beat Police Officer (Matt Dillon). Probably one of the most well-rounded and well-developed of all the characters. We see the mean-spiritedness in his soul as he deals with an African-American HMO executive, but we see his tender side when he cares for his father and rescues th woman he earlier molested.

A district Attorney (Brendan Fraser) who bases his judgements on their political implications.

The DA's snob of a wife (Sandra Bullock) - the epitome of suburban snobbery. She assumes her Hispanic locksmith is a gang member. She's absolutely incensed when her friend can't lend a helping hand because she is getting a massage.

A black TV director (Howard) who neglects to confront the racism he experiences by the LA Police.

Two young black carjackers who (larenz Tate and Ludacris) who complain that white people are wrongfully scared of them due to racial profiling, yet the youngsters turn right around and carjack the couple who cowered at their presence.

A bigoted gun dealer refuses to sell a gun to the Persian man calling him Osama.
