Response to Slightly off-topic: Clear Resin

Casting clear resin is very difficult. Most clear urethanes are inhibited by tin cured silicone RTV rubber. Almost all widely available RTV is tin cured (the hardener/activator for the RTV is tin based). If you try to cast clear urethane in a tin cured silicone mold, it will never harden. You'll go to demold it and the resin will still be soft.

You have to use expensive platinum cured RTV. The problem is...tin cured silicone inhibits platinum cured RTV. In plain english...you have to have a completely separate setup to make the molds. Different mix containers, different mixing sticks, etc. If ANY tin cured RTV touches the platinum cured RTV...and it will never cure. EVER. So you really have to segregate your RTV.

As you can quickly realize...unless you're going to cast a decent amount of clear...it's very pricey and very difficult to pull off.

For Silicones...I use Silicones Inc. and I get my resin from Smooth-On. You can google them. Good luck.
