Response to Which is the better 1/48 Jeep?

One comment giving the nod to the Hasegawa Jeep:

I think the Hasegawa jeep captures the 1940's "tall/tip-toe" look of the real Jeep much better than Tamiya's "modernized", wide-stance, "modern car" look. In keeping with this, the Hasegawa Jeep has a more accurate rad grille proportion and also a more correct, narrower, tire width.
Hasegawa is more expensive though, and offers fewer figures! The wheel hubs are also said to be poorer on Hasegawa, but they didn't bother me all that much, though the tire threads could use some mud if memory serves...

Another commenter likes the Tamiya Jeep:

...in 1/48, the Tamiya "small military vehicle" is the best jeep kit by a fair margin. The similar 1/48 Hasegawa jeep kit is basically accurate, and I'm using my one Hasegawa jeep as the armored AB scout jeep in the Ardennes. But the Tamiya jeep kit is just finer in detail overall, and Tamiya got the wheels better than Hasegawa did. One person swears the Tamiya tires are too fat, but you can find WW2 vintage photos showing jeeps with fairly robust tires. Please be careful looking at modern restorations for photo refs; so many do not use the standard WW2 size tires, and they are very hard to get now anyway. The Hasegawa tires are noticeably narrower. In most respects the Tamiya jeep is the better one. The Hasegawa jeep has a raised canvas top while the Tamiya one does not. The old Bandai jeep has a raised top that could be adapted, and in the future, I plan to release the former ID jeep set that also has an excellent raised top with added details. There are Hauler PE detail sets for both kits available.

I think they both run close to the same price with the Tamiya kit being slightly cheaper and includes a bunch of fiures.
