I mentioned the Italeri kit because the poster asked about a shake and bake upgraded kit...
Italeri's kit is workable and has lasted modelers for 30 years but its not the best that Italeri can or could do. I don't know whats so hard about building a good new kit either? Even with 3 times as many parts, the Bronco kit has to build better than the very ill fitting Italeri kit. Given also that Bronco has a crew and some stowage, the price is not unreasonable for what you get. italeri's kit will still need new tools, new MG's, tow cables, a decent etch set, and still perhaps tracks. It is an option for sure but I would not go that route myself.
