Sorry about the posting problems last night.

After about 6 months, this diorama is finished. A brass plaque, frame and dust cover are being made. I am thinking about submitting this to one of the model magazines where there will be a short synopsis of the build and the history behind this "Snapshot in History". Thanks to Mike Mummey for the technical info and thanks to Nick Popaditch for the inspiration. Also thanks to those who followed this build and gave me advise. Enough said. Here it is.

Looks fantastic Mike!!!

Except for the SAW gunner... He would have gotten "turtle thumped" for putting the muzzle in the dirt like that!

Great work, all the small details make that moment in time a little more real...

Glad you got that "premature" thing fixed wink.gif

Again, great work!

Magnificent job, Mike. You've done exceptional painting and detailing work on the tank, the figures, the gear, the poses, the diorama base and roadway, along with excellent photos. Very realistic. Top marks all 'round. Well done!

Best! Ted!

Mike watched your build log....

the finished product is a masterpiece...very realistic . Loved the way you blended the blacktop road and the sand off to the side, great job on the figures too. The accessories make the whole thing look great. Way to handle a few weeks back the dude who wasn't to impressed with your figures...doing figures is hard doing realistic figures is harder, I know I'm still attempting the latter. Mike.

Is your build blog still up some place where I might still have a chance to view it? I would like to find out some of the background behind your build. From the photo and title of the book I thiink I have a pretty good idea but it is very interesting. I am an Army Gulf War vet and retired Armor Cavalry NCO. Two of my sons are currently serving in the dirt. Hooah.
Tahnks for your time and your post.
