Has anyone heard anything about the Patton Museum closing/moving? I have read some disturbing rumors but haven't seen anything official?

Patton Museum - no, Aberdeen Proving Ground - yes

Some things are already in the process of being moved to Virginia to new, better (enclosed) digs.

Now that would be a good thing. I would love to see a lot of that stuff restored and displayed inside somewhere so that it could be preserved. They have got some really unique stuff over there just sitting outside rusting away.

There are definite plans to relocate the Armor Museum

August 22 2009, 6:57 PM

Due to the Army's decisionto co-locate the Infantry and Armor Schools at Ft. Benning, GA, and the purpose of the museum to mostly serve to educate warriors about the development of their branch, the Army Center of Military History plans to relocate the Armor Museum to Benning as well.
