Folks,

I just picked up this kit over the weekend at a local event and have a few questions.

[linked image]

1) If anyone has built the kit, how did it go? Just looking for some commnents if you care to share them. Also, if you have some pics of your completed model, please post some.

2) The kit includes markings for an American Sherman 'Berlin or Bust' with a caricature of Hitler underneath and show a number of 'T-901478'; does anyone have any information/pics about this particular tank?

3) The gun mantlet does not include a hole for the co-axial 30 cal. MG; this is easy enough to scratchbuild but were there some Shermans that were built without this MG?

TIA!

Rick

It's the old esci/Ertl M4A1 Sherman

and a fairly decent kit that was reissued by Italeri in 2002. It represents a fairly uncommon version of Sherman tanks; a large hatched cast hull M4A1 with a 75mm turret.

It was a favorite kit for many years until surpassed by more recent Sherman tank kits. You can find out all about the Esci/Ertl/AMT/Italeri M4A1 at this site:http://www.onthewaymodels.com/
