Hi All,

Have a few questions. I own a 1/16 Heng Long Pzr III and a Verlinden Panzer III.
How accurate are each of these, I'm looking to make a static model and want to know whichis the more accurate kit (I realize the barrel on the HL is not accurate) What are the inaccuracies for each and what would it take to fix them.

I'm working in Afghanistan and don't have access to ref materials or sites so hoping you knowledgable folks can help me out.

Thanks for your time
Jim

Verlinden kit

I have not built this kit, but have seen it done up and it looks ok. However, the fellow that built it was very very skilled and put hundreds of hours into it.

I have built some of the other Verlinden 1/16 kits and they are not well engineered, do not have much detail for their size, do not fit well, and are not the most accurate. If you want one, try to find some reviews or comments. Perhaps on Missing Links? And try to find one cheap on eBay etc. I built their Panzer II and fooled around with the Panther, and both were garbage. Likewise their Field Kitchen, 20mm FlaK and PaK 36 were not very good either. The Pak was probably the best but the massively thick resin shield killed the kit. The limited photo-etch in the Verlinden kits is poorly done and misses obvious things like the PaK gun shield...

Verlinden is 1:15

Don't know what the true scale is for the Heng Long, but I have lots of experience with Verlinden 1:15 Tiger Is and Tamiya 1/16 Tiger Is. Parts are NOT interchangeable. In fact you can put the Tamiya turret inside the Verlinden turret!
