I built a Skif T-64 using the Eduard set and while they did not give you totally new drums, they gave enough to fix the kit ones. Basically for the T-64 you glue the kit drums together, sand off all the molded detail (and you could fill and sand the seam on the side). Then you get new p-e end caps for the drums, new straps, brackets, etc. In the end you get about 10 parts for each drum to dress it up. Some etch sets probably give you the drums themselves. They are not the same as WW2 German fuel drums by a long shot. You might find some resin ones. Have you checked all the resin Russian doo-dads at www.historicabooks.com?
