I'm building an Italeri 35-scale Hetzer, and I see that it is seriouslt lacking standard Panzer external fixtures like pioneer tools (spade, pick, axe), a jack, tow cable etc.
Did the Hetzer have external stuff? If yes, I seek a kit of Panzer external details. Does one exist?
Please advise. TIA. George, out...........
a shovel or pick, not attached to the tank by brackets, maybe just wedged into a spot that would prevent it from falling off, you could use thread to represent rope and "tie" tools to some spot on the tank, also any type of tarp or bag/back pack the same could be done. The Hetzer by Italeri is a "old dog" there isn't much detail with the kit . Mike
Dragon/Cyberhobbies has at least two sets of German pioneer tools and tank fittings (jacks, notek lights, tools, etc.) as does Tamiya. You can find a lot also in resin and white metal. Mig, Model Kasten, etc. offer assorted fittings like lights, etc.
The Italeri Hetzer is quite old. It was modelled on the Bovington Museum tank and IIRC some damage on the Bovington tank track guards was cleaned up and modeled as a detail on the kit... I forget what needs to be fixed there... The Italeri kit also has poor Panzer 38T tracks which were not used on the Hetzer... FYI
I'm also mustering my pennies to replace the the tracks. ACK that it's not a great kit, but I build OOB then enhance the model with bought or scratch-built details.
I started it when I was away. It fit into the plastic lunchbox I could carry.
Many thanks, guys. George, out..............
