M-46 Patton question...

...I've noticed on some pictures of M-46s deployed in Korea that there are some hollow tubes stored alog the sides of the tank, on the skirts.
What are they?
Are they cleaning rods for the gun, or additional armour?
Wondering if I want to include them on mine...

Thanks in advance...

Semper Fi, Don

Haven't noticed them in pics I have, but if there are

lots of them I'd guess poles for cammo netting. Later in the war when fixed positions became common you see shots of cammo netted positions (LVTs, tanks and guns).

I looked briefly on line at M26 and M46 pics and couldnt find anything... agreed probably stakes for camo netting or something similar...

... The cover of the S/S Aromor in Korea has them on the M-46, and a few pics inside.

I may add them on this info, Thanks.
