I'm trying to confirm what the tracks were on this vehicle.
I can see a resemblance to the Pz 38 (t) tracks, and the Czechs made them during the war so it's logical to assume they could have re-used them for this vehicle, but can anyone confirm this?
I'm thinking in 1/35 they would be similar enough, and I'm not that much of a rivet-counter anyway, but opinions would be appreciated.
Also, does anyone know if Trumpeter will sell their tracks separately?
The OT series are really unique vehicles and aside from the visual similarity to the Wartime German halftracks, they really share no parts in common. Dimensionally they aren't even the same. The roadwheels, front wheels and tracks are all unique. The track is nothing like the Skoda 38 tracks. Its more akin to the old SWS halftrack. If you want to make a model of the OT you can't really convert a 251 either. George Bradford/AFV News sells an excellent set of 1/35 drawings if you want to try to scratch build one.
What Trumpeter tracks do you want/need? Most of their tracks are not that good... thick and springy. You could try buying them via Hobby Link Japan, who sell individual parts and sprues from assorted manufacturers.
Thanks, David - I thought that might be the case. Oh, well.

I was thinking of trying to get some of the PT76 track, for the old Glencoe BTR50 - yeah, I know it's old & 'orrible, but was thinking I could do something with it... aside from airgun target practice, that is...
8-)
I think from what people say the Trumpeter PT tracks are too short/tight to fit the 1/35 kit so I am sure they don't fit the huge Glencoe/ITC/Ringo kit. The Glencoe kit is at least 1/32 scale but seems closer to 1/30... its huge.
Im not sure what you could use to really replace the Glencoe tracks.
with the guide horns lopped off and replaced on the outside... a whole lotta work, and I might yet flag the whole idea, but I'm thinking of options... one day the whole thing will gel and I'll be off.
Or I could wait for Trumpeter to do a BTR50 and take the easy way out!
