Malta tank scheme

I am a newby to tanks, and have a model of the Valentine that I would like to do as a Malta based tank.

The tank is a pale stone colour with a disruptive scheme to help it blend in with the brick walls on the island.

I have seen several artistic interpretations of this scheme, but they have either a dark brown or a dark green disruptive scheme over the pale stone. Does anyone know for sure which it was? Dark brown, or dark green?

Also, can someone please help with the correct colour names? Basic, I know, but I am still finding my way with this... happy.gif

Any help appreciated,

TIA

This is slightly tricky.

The Valentine didn't get to Malta until the later half of 1942. It came from M.E. stocks and would probably have been finished in Light Stone BS.61 as basic colour. The darker 'joints' being added after arrival. The colour of these are really unknown but the current M.E.G.O. specified Dark Green or Black as disruptive colours. It is possible that by then the official paints might also have been supplied to Malta but a local colour that was deemed suitable may also have been used. Not a lot of help really, you must decide on this one.

Appreciate the reply and the info. A good start, and guide. Black probably makes more sense, but think I'll go with green. Atleast, it is not out of the realms of possibility!

Thanks again
