Hello:
I'm wanting to get the 1/350 U.S.S. Alabama kit by Trumpeter. I want to make it look like it does now in Mobile, Alabama (plus the AA mounts it would have had). The kit does not represent its 1945 configuration I think - especially with regards to radars.
Can anyone verify this? Assuming I am correct, can anyone tell me which is better for this kit: the Gold Medal Models PE set, or the Tom's Modelworks PE set?
I simply don't know if the kit comes with later radars. If it does, I can live without PE railings & cranes. My main concern is the radar configuration. I have not seen later radars in pictures of the 1/350 Alabama kit. However, the 1/350 Massachusetts apparently does come with the later radars. Aren't they the same kit though?
I'm assuming I'll need a PE set to put later radars on the Alabama kit if it doesn't already come with the same parts as the Massachusetts kit. But which one should I choose?
