Response to Very funny

"flight quarters, flight quarters, all hands man your flight quarters stations"

Usually about 04:00 until whenever secured from flight quarters, it always seemsed like it was well in excess of 12 hours,

The absolute worst thing as an enlisted aircrew member was flying "starboard delta" and have both pilots "hot seat" so they could get 'crew rest' while being given a box lunch and being told to "deal with it, that's why you get flight pay"

The first week or so aboard ship isn't too bad, but after that a person starts loosing track of which day or even which week it is.

I also had a bunch of cassete tapes that got ruined as a result of the air and surface search radars on the ship. Of course all of this was during the 70's, so it's probably completely different now
