Response to Trumpeter Seawolf - Defect Corrected?

If you value your sanity, reinforce the snot out of the join of the hull halves. The plastic is waaay too flexible, mine split so many times, I finally drilled holes in the hull and flowed a whole tube of thin super glue with a chaser of hardener down each seam on the inside to reinforce it...

Also, even automotive (Plastikote spray bomb semi-gloss black) lacquer didn't stick to the plastic very well, laid down a beautiful finish, the paint is recommended, but masking the hull red caused some of it to pull up.... be sure to lightly scuff the kit before painting (a Scotchbrite pad would probably do an adequate job), I don't know if primer would even hold to it without it...

Other than the hull plastic flexing like crazy, the model is at least a pretty decent kit considering I got mine for $7.50 on a Hobby Lobby closeout. If I'd paid the full asking price I'd have been very upset.

Reinforce those hull joints or that model will drive you batty.
