... Building my first 1/350 ship kit, the Trumpy S-25. So what the heck are the dozens of little square thingies everywhere that look rather like microscopic Belgian waffles?... life rafts?.... Now, are they to be painted the same color as the superstructure parts (Thanks for saving me on the basics W.E.M.)?... If I had to abandon a sinking ship. I'd want to be in a bright yellow or orange raft which could be seen easily. But that's just my naive self. Seeking the wisdom of Kriegsmarine Eexperten. TIA

Cheers,

Stan

Stuck her with knives in the side of the dawn
Tied her with fences and dragged her down"... Jim Morrison 1968

The Trump instructions don't say?

Yup. Their color sheet seems to show superstructure color. Grey. Makes sense to me. Pre/post war, prob red, orange, yellow, striped, etc.

As others here on HS like to say, Google can be your friend. A very good friend!

Marx float, the German equivalent to the British Carley float. They became more common as the war went on, and by the end were stacked, strapped & hung all over.
