I'm searching desperately a N/CC fic, which I'm sure is on this site.
Somehow remember many details but not the whole plot of the fic.
All I know is that the fic set place after Niles heart attack, while he is recovering. The family is not there (don't know if they are on vacation or just away for the evening) so Niles and CC are alone in the mansion.
The main scene I remember plays in the kitchen in the evening. Niles is depressed and gloomy that everyone is tiptoeing around him, trying not to put too much stress on him...He tells CC the story of his father (or was it his grandfather?) who also had a heart attack and who spend the rest of his life sitting under a tree on a bench doing nothing cause everyone thought he is useless for any work after his heart attack. Niles doesn't want to end like this.
CC feels pity for him and she asks him if he ever had a desire he wanted to fulfil like a expensive vacation or something like that and Niles responds that he always wanted to make love to her.
The whole scene is a very emotional insight of Niles' fears and I remember that's what I really loved about that fic.
Well one thing leads to another and before anything could happen Fran and Max come in. CC leaves the mansion not without giving Niles the keys to her appartment...

I search this fic for months now and I can't find it...

That one is "The Heart of the Matter" by SME. Alas, it is no longer on this site, and is quite a slippery fic to track down. I don't have it, but if someone else out there does....well, do I have to finish the rest of the sentence??
