So please answer Grover if you desire.
Is Cuba a regime or a republic?
Do you know what is propaganda, let me help out.
As quoted from Wikapedia:
Municipal assemblies are elected every two and a half years. Municipal elections are officially non-partisan, but as with National Assembly elections, critics maintain that no candidate can express overt opposition to the Castro government or to the communist system. The last such elections were held on 17 April 2005. Turnout was reported to be 95.76%.
Is fact municipals assemblies are voted on every two and half years.
Is fact the last election for municipal assemblies were April 17, 2005.
Is fact there was a 95.76% turn out.
HOWEVER, propaganda is to quote Wikapedia from above (fast becoming the shit hole of the net IMO):
“but as with National Assembly elections, critics maintain that no candidate can express overt opposition to the Castro government or to the communist system.”
Who are these critics? The author? Any person can claim anything Grover. SO What!
To quote the Cuban constitution:
Article 131 of the Constitution states that voting shall be "through, free, equal and secret
vote".
Through means, obtained by. A secret vote means, NO retaliation. Free means, of clear conscience and mind; personal and subjective. Equal means my vote is as good as any other, no better and no worse than any other, the same as any other.
Article 136 states: "In order for deputies or delegates to be considered elected
they must get more than half the number of valid votes cast in the electoral districts."
Votes are counted in public view.
Elected means: It makes NO mater what the count, the elected must get over half the total votes.
Deputies or delegates are “people” NOT parties.
For validation and legitimacy, votes are counted in “public view”. (not so in the USA)
By Cuban constitutional law, there must be at least 2 candidates, and there can be up to 8
The Communist Party is not an electoral party and it is not a requirement that one be a
member of the Communist party of Cuba to be elected to any position. SEE article 131 and 136—NO where does it say you elect a “party”.
And on goes the list Grover.
NONE of this is mentioned in USA propaganda about Cuba--- NONE at all.
I graduated from law school. I have hanging on the wall of my house, my diploma with a 3.3 GPA. I will be damned and go to hell the day I can’t read.
The worst mistake the USA ever did is that I, a common person, got educated, and I can speak for CUBA on this. In addition, Cuba has FREE education from K to PhD.
Some people do not value education Grover. Not much I can do about it, but I can try to persuade from time to time, perhaps by an example, the very thing the USA refuses to do for good things.
