The longer you live

The more you realize ......... that people live in their own world. I'm much more respecting of others' perceptions today than I used to be. It makes sense that these people aren't necessarily low intelligence but simply can't relate to OUR culture and language.

My brother-in-law is mentally handicapped and autistic. But he sure understands the word "dumb". He is capable of knowing that he's not normal and that it would be "nice" to be normal. I try to treat him with respect all the time ........ even when I get mad. I think such people should be thought of as animals in that .......... they DO sense and they DO feel and ........... you can communicate with them pretty good on a spiritual level. There's nothing quite matches winning the absolute trust and affection of a cat. I know it sounds weird but ......... when you've done that, you've done well! Same thing goes for troublesome humans.
