All of the silliness could have been avoided with a single post from the forum owners that went something like the following:
"Bob, Jackie, noob, et. al.
I understand and appreciate your ability to not be offended or take profanity too seriously. I'm the same myself.
For better, or worse, there are people that aren't as open, flexible, or comfortable with such things. I'm trying to run a forum where even the most sensitive are comfortable to come and read without being offended. I understand that means sometimes catering to over-sensitive people at times. For accomplishing the goals of this forum, I would prefer to cater to being overly sensitive rather than overly open.
Yes, I understand that isn't fair, but it is realistic. If you're interested in a more open dialog that doesn't need to submit to such strict rules, please let me know a more open forum where you post and we can have a discussion there.

Demanding respect is disprectful. Showing, demonstrating, extending, and asking for respect is respectful.
But everyone here pretty much already understands this - which is why we're "here".
