Actually, the Essenes of Carmel were massacred (to the point of the order ceasing) in the very late days of the rebellion which ended with the Temple burning in 70 AD.
In fact, it might have been a few years later.
And, if I'm not mistaken, the Qumran (dead sea) Essenes lasted just a bit longer than the Carmelites.
Nazoreans do not cut their hair or drink wine or touch dead bodies for the whole time of their 'vow.'
Remember Jesus said at the wedding at Cana:
