and yes, I'm voting Obama. The country can't afford four more years of right wing pandering. The last eight have brought us a pretend war paid for by borrowing billions. If the people jumping up and down last night at the convention had their taxes raised to fund the war they were so thrilled to cheer about they wouldn't have been so happy. There is no pain associated with the "gain" that the war is supposed to be bringing us. It's invisible. Problem is... it's bringing the dollar to its knees.
Bush is a fucking idiot. He's appointed Supreme Court justices who vote based upon fairy tales not the law. His administration is based upon idiocy... the last thing I heard was that they are trying to equate birth control with abortion. We have to get these morons out of office!
Now, I've been mostly Republican my entire life. I voted for Reagan, and Bush Sr. Then, I voted for Clinton against Dole because, well, he was doing pretty well and Dole was just a dick.
(A side note... the convention that cheered so loudly for Bush Sr. hated the man not too long ago for violating his "No new taxes" promise. And that's why Clinton had such a stable economy for his terms... because of those taxes. That's where the surplus came from.)
I voted for Gore against Bush because of the religion Bush thrust into the race but when Bush eventually won it didn't bother me so much because I thought the son would be like the father and surround himself with men who knew what they were doing. Boy was I wrong. He surrounded himself with right-wing pricks whose only goal was the perpetuation of JesUS Christ. They all pray before meetings and inject religion into EVERYTHING. Asshats like Ted Haggard had a direct line to W. Look how that turned out. They completely turned against me. At least Reagan wore his religion as a coat, not a shield. Bush has erected a religious wall that you can't get to the other side of without the special handshake. IT MUST GO!
So yes, I'm voting for Obama, the far lesser of two evils. His tax plan will ease the burden on the middle and lower class. McSame's will actually RAISE taxes on the middle class.
And then to top it all off... he picks a creationist to be his running mate. Game over.
