Something that defies science?

I always considered the holy spirit to be an additional dimension to thought; an inspirational dimension which defies normal assumption ....... a completely different and novel approach to solving problems.

Like two people (or nations) at odds ....... ready to go to war or warring already. Suddenly someone comes up with an idea: why don't we call a temporary truce and have the leaders TALK about their differences, grievances and expectations? They do it and EUREKA! ........ they understand, reach agreements and .......... the war is OVER!! Who'da thunk it?

Or, say, some device that requires a LOT of care and maintenance. Everyone just assumes that it has to be the way it is. Pressure cookers for example ......

Pressure cookers were around when I was a kid. They were complicated stainless steel units with with screwed tops, rubber seals, relief valves and a thermometer and pressure gauge standing on top of the lid. They used to blow up fairly regularly when the relief valve got clogged and cooks weren't around to keep an eagle eye on them. They seemed to need a certain measure of "worship" and respect to avoid serious injuries. They were a fairly hot topic of discussion at get-togethers.

Then some 'idiot' came up with a novel idea: why not just put a small weighted device with a conical stem, into a hole in the lid? The weight would decide the pressure inside. That's what we have today. A ho-hum gadget that's fool proof and so gaspingly simple, no one EVER talks about pressure cookers anymore! The reverence has DISAPPEARED!~~
There are no more pressure cooker fanatics around today.

That's how I perceive the holy spirit ........ an inspirational, suggestive "force" that defies common perception. A "silly" force that brings safe, sensible, sound, satisfactory, sinless, solutions to complex problems -without fanfare or prestige. It comes ....... gives ....... and then leaves, laughing gaily over the 'trick' it pulled.

Conscience can be tainted with prejudice but the holy spirit is neutral. When the holy spirit is finished, NO ONE is able to denounce it.

Ok, so ......... charismatics try to CONJURE this force by acting silly. Does that actually ATTRACT the holy spirit to come and do stuff? No, I don't think so. They mostly imagine things.
