Terminology has changed meaning over the years.
Bootstrapping originally meant positive feedback to limit. Like power steering or power brakes on a car. (The '60s cars really overdid it to the point where you could steer with a finger and durst not actually step on the brake or you'd go through the windshield!~). Now it means building up to a state.
Drivers were bass loudspeakers.
Bandwidth was the frequency space occupied continually by a transmitter. Today its the instantaneous amount of data being transferred.
I found it quite revolting that these words were expropriated for other things.
