Doesn't mean much at all, really.

Response to So is it impressive that the Bible is the best seller of all times?

When you stop to think how many churches buy them in bulk to stock the pews.
Or, the many groups that also purchase Bibles in bulk...
To give away during Street Outreach sessions...
-- (Heck... I'm guilty of that one)...
You might begin to realize that...
-- Most of the Bibles sold aren't even going to be read.

And...
When you take into consideration the number of Hotels and Motels across North America...
And realize that Every Hotel Room has a Bible in the Nightstand...
-- Compliments of the Good People of the Gideon's Society...
The mere number of bibles sold...
-- Is actually pretty meaningless.

Take a look at The Church of Scientology...
L. Ron Hubbard's collective "literary" work claims to include...
-- "Over Twenty Best Sellers"...
With sales in excess of One Hundred Million Copies Worldwide...
-- (And, Millions of Copies of the Dianetics book having been sold.)

So, you've got to ask yourself...
No matter what the "religion" may be...
Should it really count...
When sales have been artificially boosted...
-- By zealous devotees...?
