Marge sis has nothing on this guy. (Actually Marge ain't a downer at all..

)
I only recently read Dawkin's Delusion book and I am glad I did. A real worthwhile book IF one can see it as most of what we 'see' is - a part of the puzzle.
Yep, even I got a real down OFF after reading Dickie and his totally fundie atheist way of seeing science and /or life.
Strangely though I am never affected by the Fundy religionists and their threats of damnation. Yeah OK...
But Dickie and his pratterings, in a nice way, well, if I didn't know better, I would reach for the blade and just end it all!
Not really.
Dawkins gets it 'right' often enough. Loving and being amazed at something for what it is. I can get lost with him romatically musing over the sun and the moon and memes (

) and the atom and the wings of bees. Yea indeed amazing, and often just overlooked and taken for granted. BUT, when he gives his example of one who looks at the moon and says, hey, awesome. Something amazing is behnd all this, the theologian, (his example remember) and when another sees the same and says, awesome, must find out how all this made MADE and consists of....
Well, I would guess some come between the both or merge the both. Wow, amazing. From Something else just as amazing. How on earth does this work? What part has this in the Great Plan, or non-plan. (

)
Yeah, I am not gonna knock Dawkins, I enjoy him too much, but he is just another example for me as to why I never put all my eggs in just the one basket. Too risky and no need to. And I don't want to! I just love exploring everywhere!
Out there and In Here, many possibilities.
Just in my opinion, or in my imagination, but THERE and HERE non the less.
DAWKINS did write the Rainbow book afrer realising his 'gene' and other stuff caused downers with others. And it is a very good read.
Of course, in the preface to the book he just has to write:
"I believe that an orderly universe, one indifferent to human preoccupations, in which everything has an explanation even if we still have a long way to go before we find it, is a more beautiful, more wonderful place than a universe tricked out with capricious, ad hoc magic."
And I kinda agree he is right, but in the wrong way! He says it with NO SPIRIT!

Indeed there may well be answers to everything but, to my mind, he needs to open his his soul, which is definately there (

) to see the answers in other than his One Way........
Well, he doesn't have to, but he needs to be able to get a sense of how loads of other people DO feel the spirit and the science of just about everything.
Love
Jackie
