Response to Why?

To the idea of people being "stupid." Many Christians KEEP themselves stupid because they believe that God WANTS them to refrain from using their brains. They believe that brain use will automatically separate them from their belief in God.

Well they're right in a way because their belief in God DOESN'T make any sense and if they were to start being sensible, they'd quickly face the dilemma of realizing that their belief was senseless .... and .... what then?

But these people aren't lacking for brains; they're just blocking the USE of their brains.

I don't think brainy people are necessarily all that smart but they've learned to DO something which the clueless haven't: they've learned to pay attention and remember and to sort things out.

If a person merely sets a goal of learning something new each day and REMEMBERING what he learned .... he will quickly become abnormally knowledgeable about all sorts of things. It doesn't take long at all ... because things start to "connect" to many other things.

The idea that the world is going to hell in a hand basket is most prevalent in the U.S. today and while that's largely true, the situation seems totally hopeless for most Christians. They believe that Jesus HAS to be waiting, right around the corner ... and when he shows up, he will simply fix everything up again. So ... they complain a LOT about existing conditions but don't bother to learn the details of what's happening in the world around them. And so .... the situation continually looks mind bogglingly hopeless with no solution except to pray non-stop and expect Jesus to show up soon. What can they DO about anything? It's all too complex to understand.

But here's the thing .....

Once people DO know what is going on ... beyond any doubt .... what happens then? Supposing a mayor is caught by police in a red light district, making out with a prostitute ... and it hits the news....

What do the people DO about that? They get damned mad and PHONE in to all sorts of places. They might find that mayor and mob him. Just the fact that they KNOW for sure what has been happening, "empowers" them to act. As a result of their action, the mayor resigns or whatever.

Knowledge then, is the MOST powerful weapon. Once you know for sure, there is no more confusion or uncertainty.

And so ... if people actually spend the time to LEARN what is going on so that they know for sure, they will realize a very REAL power. They know what is happening and they also know how it is wrong and .......what needs to be done to fix the problem ....... and finally, DEMAND that it be done.

When people DON'T know what's going on, they can only make a lot of senseless noise.
