Response to Which is more important: Facts or perception?

However...
In Reality...
-- It depends on the Context.

For instance...
Right now, there's a woman in Texas...
Lying, near death, in a hospital.
She's had multiple heart attacks in the past few days...
And, each time, the Highly Trained Medical Staff...
Has been able to pull her out of it.

They've been keeping her alive...
-- With the Aid of Modern Medical Technology.

However...
Her circulatory system has been damaged...
And, blood isn't flowing to her lower extremeties...
Her toes have turned black...
And, unless they are amputated (Soon)...
Gangrene will begin to spread throughout her body...
And, without a doubt...
-- She WILL Die.
These are the Facts.

But...
The members of her family are...
-- Devoutly-Delusional Disciples of Jesus T. Christ.
They've been Praying Profoundly...
Ever since the woman entered the hospital.
And...
Every recovery from every Heart Attack...
Has been attributed...
Not to the efforts of the Highly Trained Medical Staff in Attendance...
But, rather...
-- To THEIR PRAYERS.

They Perceive the Heart Attacks to be Attacks by Satan.
They Perceive their Prayers as having Overcome those Attacks.
They Perceive the lack of circulation to the Woman's Toes...
-- To be a Similar Attack By Satan.
And...
It is their Perception that...
-- Their Prayers can Overcome THAT Attack as well.

So, in this case...
Which is more important...
Is a matter of... Perspective.

From the perspective of the Hospital Staff...
-- (And the Real World)...
The FACTS are Most Important.

Now, the Fact is...
-- The woman's toes are already dead.
-- They should be amputated.
And...
This Fact is most important to the Hospital Staff...
Who have been trying Desparately to save this Woman's Life

However...
The Delusional Family Members...
-- Relying on their Perception...
Won't allow the amputation to done...
Because of their Perception of the "Facts".
-- No matter how erroneous that Perception may be.

Now...
if you're talking about discussions on Internet Message Boards...
Then...
Which is more important (Facts or Perception) would depend, primarily, upon...
-- The Topic being discussed.

If the topic is about the Perception regarding a particular issue...
Then, the Perception is more important.

If the topic is about the Facts regarding a particular issue...
Then, the Facts would be more important.

However...
In either case...
Once again...
Perspective...
-- Must be taken into consideration.

Has this been helpful...?
From Your Perspective...?
-- Probably Not.
