I was discussing the Middle East issue with a colleague of mine, a Muslim of Turkish descent. We got around to discussing media, and how it is ironic that there is far more dissidence allowed, and variation of opinion -- in Israel, than in the USA.
In the USA (and Canada for that matter), the tired refrain of "anti-Semite" is quickly hurled at anyone that dares question, dares criticize.
Reading Ha'aretz, yes you'll the the nutjob WND type of columnists, but you'll also get the well reason, classical liberal columnist who can see the dangers of militaristic Zionism, of playing a zero sum game with lives and lands.
It did trouble me a bit to read today of some issues between the Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews, with accusations of racism against the Ashkenazi.
