Response to Not a lot of difference at all...

" ...silly games of semantics "?

You make it sound like a bad thing?

What's wrong with semantics?

Linguistics .
the study of meaning.
the study of linguistic development by classifying and examining changes in meaning and form.
Also called significs; the branch of semiotics dealing with the relations between signs and what they denote.
the meaning, or an interpretation of the meaning, of a word, sign, sentence, etc..
general semantics; a philosophical approach to language, developed by Alfred Korzybski, exploring the relationship between the form of language and its use and attempting to improve the capacity to express ideas.

But, since you mentioned "semantics", what was it again that was posed earlier?

... when ... a subject exceeds our ability to grasp the concept being addressed; when we fail to appreciate its intrinsic value, we resort to the semantics of language, digress/side-track or shut down...

Bummer uh? sad.gif

rejected and denied by many, accepted and embraced by few : falsifiability
- it is not what we (think we) know that matters, it is what we can show true that does
as the maxim demands; truth is demonstrably fact and fact is demonstrably true
everything else ... mere BS -

New!! Improved!! Now With CD-Formula!!
