And who's the guy "grinning" in the SS car following the President's limousine?
Yes, Johnson's car -(white, at the back, partially around the bend)- is stopped and the doors are open. Almost surely, that car had someone inside who KNEW something bad was happening. The secret service on the second car -the one behind the President's- are standing there on the running boards, "unperturbed." Why didn't THEY know if the Johnson car knew? Kennedy is already clutching his throat, though it's hard to make that out for sure but -what really catches my attention is that- the two SS men on the passenger side running board are NOT looking at the President. Neither is the SS man at the back of the driver's side. The two on the left side are looking directly back to where Oswald is standing and the second SS man on the driver's side is also looking in that general direction. So are a number of spectators nearer the door of that building. They're not looking UP; they're looking directly back to where Oswald is standing at ground level. In short, a LOT of people are looking back toward Oswald and not up to the high window in the book depository.
What is going on right where Oswald is standing ... to draw all their attention back there? Oswald isn't holding a rifle; he appears to be just standing there watching.
Then, if you look closely at the Zapruder film, JUST BEFORE Kennedy disappears behind the sign, he cocks his head slightly. I don't know if anyone had a real live sound track but I've seen the clip with sound and there are gunshots to be heard. It sounds a bit like a car backfiring in the distance. Kennedy is evidently cocking his head to hear a sound better. Having spent time in the navy in WW2, he wasn't unfamiliar with the sound of gunfire.
Now, guns or a gun shooting from the 6th floor of that building -which is where Oswald was supposed to have fired from- would CLEARLY sound like a high powered rifle ... for a couple of reasons ...
There would be no sound damping from the ground or crowd.
It would have a "splitting sound" because high powered rifle bullets break the sound barrier and create a splitting, moving, cracking sound. The shock wave travels with the bullet. That sound echos a lot. It's a sort of "PEEEeeeeOWwww" sound. A lower velocity bullet -like a standard .22 travel at slightly under the sound barrier and create no sonic boom. All you hear is the sharp crack of the powder exploding from the barrel. So that sounds more like a "Pop!"
A bit later, after reviewing the Zapruder film ...
Kennedy was initially struck in the throat ... by something. It wasn't a high powered bullet coming in from the back of his neck and simply slipping through, out of his throat. The kind of shot would have severed his spine and created a very LARGE exit hole with much tissue churned and spit forward. The throat wound didn't go in more than about an inch and it was from the front.
Somebody then, shot him from the front with something that had a pretty low velocity. It didn't come through the windshield, as some have claimed -a high velocity shot being slowed by the windshield first- because there's absolutely no windshield damage from a bullet hole, showing in this photo that I can see. The front passenger is sitting calmly, showing no sign of being perturbed (as he WOULD BE if a bullet had just slammed through in front of his face, spraying glass). If Kennedy had enough time to react by putting his hands to his throat, the "passenger" in the front seat should surely have had time to react to a bullet coming through the windshield directly in front of him.
When you view the Zapruder film, Kennedy is waving to the crowd, well after the turn. The last car -Johnson's white limo- ALSO moves around the corner and never stops ... in the Zapruder film.
Yet in this still shot, you see Johnson's car stopped with doors open, you see Kennedy's limo just barely around the corner ... and you see a whole bunch of people looking toward's Oswald.
Something is "wrong" with the Zapruder film then. If Kennedy was already hit in the throat and clutching it, THAT gun SHOT occurred JUST as his limo was going around the first turn (about where Johnson's limo is stopped with doors open). That explains why so many people are looking toward Oswald. The shot evidently came from Oswald's location. (Not that HE fired it but ... someone behind him in the shadows did). There WAS no waving to the crowd before Kennedy disappeared behind a sign. He was clutching his throat already at the second turn and had no more thoughts of waving to anyone.
He may have received the last fatal shot to his head after coming out from behind the sign but the footage between the second turn and the sign in the Zapruder film DEFINITELY seems to have been doctored tremendously.
