If Iran is in behind the scenes, helping U.S. enemies .... THAT is top secret information which the U.S. army ITSELF would want to keep top secret??!?
Get real. The U.S. would love nothing BETTER than to feed such information to the media ... in order to bolster its own position.
What about the actual validity of such information in field memos passed around? Are they accurate? Can they be relied upon as absolute fact and truth? Of course not. They're OPINIONS.
You see a video of American troops shooting down people in the street from an Apache Helicopter. Well, that IS fact; it's absolutely documented in the video itself. Written memos on estimations of enemy activity are just opinions.
And just how accurate and reliable is U.S. intelligence? I think the following chart tells us a lot. (Not sure if this was wiki-leaked or not)...
