Maintaining calmness through breathing and relaxation while engaged in fierce actions are paramount to survival. The eight trigrams introduce the nature of balance and harmony.
Daoist teaching are about non-judemental observations, acceptance of events with a open mind, caring for ones health and a very long and productive life lived in harmony. Achieveing the state of Wuji: no extremities. Fear is an extremety.
