"Of course there will be problems in Life. Earth is a place where you are presented with difficulties, frustrations, obstacles and handicaps. The whole purpose of earthly existence is to meet conditions that are a challenge to the evolving spirit so that it can have the chance to express some of its latent qualities that can be called on in times of crisis."

If you're alive? What's the problem?

More people need to think like that, imho.

I recall a Ziggy cartoon from a long time ago ..

February 28 2008, 8:59 PM

It is a bit sobering to realize, it's been 34 or 35 years, I still remember it, and I remember telling my grade 8 teacher about it.

Ziggy:

"Life isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives."

An evolving spirit..................

Well, if you believe as I do that we are spirit having a human adventure, then the idea that the spirit is evolving is just a natural belief. We each as individuals need to evolve spiritually onwards to what can be called an Ultimate Perfection. Of course, like trying to explain what God is, there are various ideas of spiritual evolution and I can only give my own.

Spirit will always go onward and upwards as such but never in descent. So we can Stick, or we can work at ascendancy.

I see It that we are spirit who for whatever reason have become stuck in the density of the physical word with it’s limitations. The Light has been dimmed by most in their materialism and greed and self and rule by the ego. We need to clear away this negativity and once more receive the Light and also shine for others.

We will all probably need many life times in order to be able to do this, but being consciously aware and working to be the best person we possibly can in each life, we get progress followed by development.

One of my very favourite books, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, explains spiritual evolution very well. Well enough for me anyhow. The mass stay stagnant but in the one is a voice that calls for something more. Do you keep with the crowd or do you follow that voice? The voice is stronger. The Path is quite hard but the Voice Within says FLY HIGHER. One eventually flies higher and there, above the clouds, is a collective of birds of which Jonathan has never see before - like minded souls. Jonathan doesn’t stay aloof though, he still takes full part in the world and can only attract by example.

I think Spirit gets the chance to evolve when a New Age is upon us and we need to be wise enough to leave behind ideas that are now out of time. So to evolve spiritually, to me, is to be able to look at say Ways and Paths in a New Light.

A belief or doctrine from the ‘past’ carries within the seed of the next phase of that belief or idea. An evolving spirit is one who can avoid being choked in traditionalism.

I think we need a mass of such enlightened humans, from each and every belief system, being brave enough to change old habits and to then be able to invite in the Great Energy, so to speak.

We are in a state of continuing spiritual evolution. We can work our way up, as such, a kind of spiritual ladder . Some take longer than others and use different Ways but all road lead to the Source - eventually.

Some things are just going to be beyond human understanding, Ju

All I am giving is my own understanding of that which is pribably un-understandable.

I knew a fellow

a brilliant guy who saw problems as opportunities. He was very accomplished so he may have actually applied his own words.

I hear what you're saying

I'm not sure that shoving the dark stuff undercover is the best thing to do either. Probably not. I mean there is dark stuff in all of us. I think though that flooding the darkness with light is a step in the right direction and I guess that exposing the dark and examining it is a step in the process of crowding it out. Yeah. Everything has to come to light and be dealt with however necesary.
