not sure it has to do with this topic, but it just occurred to me. Would ppl be more respectful, or better stewards with their life, and the things God has given them if they believed in reincarnation?

I'm not talking about coming back as a frog or a goat, but a recycle of souls if you will. And trust me the idea is repugnant for me bc it says there's no originality to the ppls of the earth over time. But anyway...

What if hell was returning to earth and starting all over again, until you learned the lessons through "ages" (or world) that God wants mankind to learn?

I do believe in reincarnation, have read numerous books about it from Ian Lawton and Michael Newton specifically -- and I find it to be quite a rational belief. Although I still have problems with some aspects. Although as with any belief system, an apologist can explain away these "problems".

As an aside, there is a belief that new souls are continuously being created. Most researchers believe that souls can incarnate in different worlds, and even realms, but that we usually have a favorite.

Yes, that would make this a hell of sorts. That is in line with the Buddhist idea that our goal is to stop the cycle of reincarnation. Whereas the western researchers I cited believe that we reincarnate because we want to. That incarnating is the best way, and maybe only way, to learn certain lessons.
