This is what I posted on anothetr forum in response to " Are expectations for President Obama impossible to meet? "
Naaah, I don't think so.
He himself went on and on about "Change ... Yes We Can", didn't he? Right.
The first time I heard the campaign slogan, knowing how politics 'works', I thought, 'this is going to be interesting, especially in the light of the adage "the more things change, the more they stay the same". That campaing slogan, given its in- and extrinsic value, must backfire. Change in the world of politics? Since when?
The ones who came up with that one, made a fundamental mistake and someone with intelligence would've realized this and would've thought up another one.'
It wouldn't surprise me a bit when the slogan that assured the election will also be the very thing assuring the downfall.
I mean, really, if humans are indeed so prone to change, then how do we explain 5700 years of Judaism, 2000 years of Christianity, 1400 years of Mohammedism - in short; the state of the world as it is in?
"Change ... Yes We Can" and the state of the world on a political level, and that's what we are talking here; politics, are mutually exclusive because if we can change, we would've done so a long time ago and the world would be a different place. It isn't.
But my views on politics are such that, he is in the position he is because he has been put there. He is "trusted" because he is owned. His link with Zbigniew is unquestionable. Politics is a show. The behind the scene stuff continues unabated. Many of us know the strings are there but on occasion, either forget, or just put ourselves in the context that it is reality, in order to discuss.
Obama is more of the same. If he wasn't, he wouldn't even have been on the ticket.
Getting elected is part one.
..... Part two is trying to put into practice any and all that had been promised as part of the election campaign.
..... Part three is finding out that the system interferes with the intentions. Often great big delays are added in, the best the opposition can do if they can't stop something.
..... Part four is that one finds that doing one thing causes many other things that had not been taken into account.
..... Part five is finding out that many of the so-called friends are only after something for THEM, never mind you! And if they can't get it, then they may change over to the opposition. Much too soon!
..... Part six is that those who are harmed shout loud and clear, but those who are helped just take the help for granted, and rarely ever thank you for the help.
..... Parts seven to (whatever)? Time will tell. Ask me in ten years or so if I'm still around then.
