On Friday my beloved ginger tom cat Harvey had to be put to sleep. He had been having a little difficulty breathing and it turns out he had a massive tumour in his chest cavity. I am completely devastated - he was not just my pet but my baby and friend. Harvey was 16 years old but had a healthy heart and I feel so cheated, I loved him so much, he kenw everything about me and his love was unconditional. He was with us since we married and I will miss him for the rest of my life..............

Rest in peace little man

Denise

Hi Denise,

Firstly my sincere sympathies on the passing of Harvey.

I'm not going to say anything about how things will get better in time, at the moment the pain is so strong, and the tears are always just behind your eyes, and you feel you heart is being wrenched out, and I know that feeling believe me.

When a beloved pet passes, we have to console ourselves with the belief, that it was their time, and our part in that passing is to comfort and do all we can to stop the suffering, this you did.

I also believe that our pets remain by our side, even in death, until we are ready to let them go, but its hard to accept that when your grief wont allow you to feel that presence.

Be assured Denise, that Harvey is no longer suffering, he recognises that all that was done, was done out of love for him. Remember, love cannot die.

Chris
