Today I have had to do one of the worst things in my life, my beloved queen Toffee has had to be put to sleep. She was hit by a car and left by the side of the road until the rspca took her to westway vets and contacted me through her microchip. I am devastated ,utterly devastated that my beautiful girl is gone, I stayed with her and held her when she died but I just cannot believe that someone would be so callous as to leave a stricken cat to die in the road. Toffee was the most beautiful cat, so pretty and delicate, with such a wonderful personality, I dont know how I am going to cope without her.

I know only too well how this feels, as I lost 8 in a 6 month period the same way, and in my case I dont even have a road as such in front of my home, only a small road leading to a car park, but calous youths who were trying to see how fast they could drive and tailspin the car parks managed by throwing fish and chips out of car windows, obviously thought it was a good and entertaining game.
Thats the worst side of it, but in fairness, some drivers wouldnt know they had hit a cat as by far the biggest amount of accidents to cats are caused by them bouncing off the tyres, causing head trauma and often death.
You must remember, that often destiny dictates that these animals can only be with us a short time, perhaps there are distinct reasons for this, I choose to believe they are here to teach us some of the many lessons we need to learn in this life, and once this job is done, their spirit moves on, sometimes to help others, sometimes to rest, and sometimes to return to us, but I also believe part of them stays with us always.
Please stop blaming yourself, there was nothing you could have done.
