Dook - threw a tantrum when caged, stomped his feet and dooked at me...
Warp - one speed. always on.
Baloo - came with it.
Kamikaze - again, one speed & always on.
Fingers - for what she eats.
Digger - for his favorite activity.
Zim - not the tallest, but one of the smartest.
Gir - Zim's sidekick, always into things.
Ya know I was trying to think of of so many things-- NOTHING has just hit me as "Yup, thats it".
I tried to figure out something to go with Rodent .. like Ermine or Rat.. but nope.
Then I thought about Magnolia -- because I just love Magnolias.. but it doesn't seem to fit either.
Then I was trying to think of something that describes her. She is SO active and then when she sleeps she looks SO dead. I know this is not an abnormal ferret thing but none of my ferrets have been SO extreme. I mean -- I've had ferrets that have played as hard as her -but she actually scared me this morning she was so dead looking. I think it might be her color too. She is a champagne, so I think the white kind of throws me off. I just don't know.
Any ideas? I also had Ophelia come to mind. I just like that name too.
What what a list of names! Thank you .. all GREAT ideas. Nothing has hit me so far. I just don't know.. maybe it will be just like Rodent's name and just end of sticking with her. A joke that never goes away! I don't know, we will see. Thank you.
Marmot! That sounds like a good idea. Rodent and Marmot.. ha ha ha. I dunno -- I think I might do a list of names and have the kids vote. Do I really want to do that though? My children are INSANE.
All of mine have come with names. They have all, over time, either been given to me, or I have adopted them.
Rocky, Fat Boy (why I don't know.. he was skinney, Wisky, Bear, (Currently) Bernard, Bianca... and Yogi.
In memory of Yogi, who passed this past Saturday. :*(
My 2 guys are:
Iggy (we use his last name of Pop when he's dookin' & dancin')
Paris (Such a pretty boy...)
My first little girl was named Maulkie. It ws pronounced like 'Mokie'. I miss her very much although she was the naughtiest little furball I've ever met!
My first ferret was a silver sable female- Nefretiti (aka Nef, Grandma). Historically, Nefretiti was married to the heretic king Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV). Nefretiti means "the beatiful woman has come". Both Nefretiti the person and Nefretiti the ferret were not only beautiful, but pretty evil, too. Nef passed away almost a month ago.
My second ferret was a DEW male named Baxter. My ex named him. We walked into a pet store to buy food for Nef, and the clerk asked if we wanted a free ferret. I asked what the catch was (ie, what's wrong with him?) and the clerk simply said that his previous owner had no idea what he was getting into. Baxter was a great kid, and beautiful too; he passed away a little over a year ago.
My third ferret was a gorgeous sable male named Alex. I wanted to name him Alistair, but my ex refused to let me name a ferret after the founder of the Satanic Church. We met half way, and I opted for Alex. He loved the beach and the park, and he loved the camera. He passed away almost a year ago.
My fourth ferret was Sierra Jasmine. She was a beautiful cinnamon. She only lived to about six months old, and even though she's been gone for almost five years, I still cry when I think about her.
My fifth ferret was also Rhonda's first. Her name was McKenna, and she was a silver sable female. She was a real cutie, she absolutely loved riding in hooded sweatshirts, and she loved her boyfriend Alex too. She passed away a little over a year ago.
My sixth ferret is a dark sable named Wiley Mittens. He loves the park, the beach, the playground, people, other ferrets, and kisses. He's awfully cute, but he's pretty sneaky too!
Our seventh, eighth, and ninth ferrets all came in rapid succession. We foster General (cute sable male, looks very similar to Alex) and Dixie (cute dark sable female), and their names have not been changed. Dixie is a championship caliber kisser, I believe she scored almost 80 kisses in the 30 second time period allowed at the frolic. Dewey was our ninth ferret- and boy is he a cutie! Rhonda named him Dewey because he's a DEW(ey). Well, sometimes. Sometimes he's a ruby eyed white. Eh, close enough!
Our 10th and 11th ferrets were brothers, Jack and Jelly (both sable males). Jack (aka Grumpy McGrumpus) has a perpetual frown on his face, which is really ironic considering how he loves to cuddle, kiss, and just sleep on my chest while I'm watching football. His frown is so cute that everyone likes it. Jelly has an average sized head, but he has jelly rolls on his tummy. He's a cutie!
Chloe was ferret number 12, and a Christmas gift to Rhonda in 2004. She's a light sable/kinda cinnamony female, and boy is she pretty.
Tarzan and Jane, ferrets 13 and 14, came soon afterwards. Tarzan is a looong, gorgeous, not quite sable not quite dark sable male, and Jane (aka peanut) is the smallest full grown ferret I've ever seen. She's a very pretty light sable, and she can give Dixie a run for her money on kisses!
I was "allowed" to name Moose, our 15th ferret. He's a mutt. He's pretty light in color, except for his cow spots. His name is great because he's a Moose (he's a baby and he's HUGE) but he's a spotted cow (so we also call him Moo). He's deaf as a rock but super cute!
Our 16th ferret is named Mitzi. She's a female blaze. She's only seven weeks old right now, but she's awfully cute! She's still in our smaller cage all by herself because Dewey (also deaf as a rock) still plays real rough with her. She is making do though, because we just brought her a buddy (our last ferret for a WHILE)- and they're already in love. His name is tentatively "Bobby" but I don't know if we'll stick with it. He is our 17th ferret. (17th?!) He is a male version of McKenna, and he loves to give kisses. He's absolutely gorgeous. Some idiot dumped him in north Everett. Their loss, our gain!
So there you have it. We currently have 12 ferrets. Rhonda and I agreed when Nef passed away that we would downsize- and we now have one more than we did when she was here. I have a weakness for chubby ferrets, cute ferrets, boy ferrets, girl ferrets, sneaky ferrets, crazy ferrets... and well, you get the idea.
Woo! Long first post. I'll try to keep them shorter in the future!
