I was wondering if snow is actually an ideal place to play with a ferret. I see a lot of photos with ferrets in the snow, but wouldn't they freeze? it just seems so strange...

I've taken my ferrets into the snow before, but I don't leave them for too long for the reasons you mention. I think Megan has some cute pictures of her ferrets in the snow....

Some ferrets love the snow, others just want right back in where it's warm.

I'd never just leave them out in that cold, but for 5 - 10 - 15 minutes (depending on the ferret and how much fun they seem to be having), it's not a problem. They have pretty good fur insulation!

well, this question kind of goes along with the topic...but, say for example, your ferret was out in the snow TOO LONG and got frost bite on his/her little toes, how should it be treated? Simiarly to humans, I supose?

As long as the ferret has had her vaccines (Rabies & Distemper), sure!
