Hello!
I just adopted a new ferret from a woman who rescued him from being euthanized by his previous owner. He is approximately 2.5 years old and was extremely malnurished and full for fleas when the woman took him home. She had him for about two months to get him back into good health (some weight gain and no more fleas) and he appears to be very healthy, except his poo is a little runny. It hasn't really been diarhea, but just a bit more runny than "normal". I brought him home on Sunday and have him on Zupreem ferret food and Nutrical (to help him put on a bit more weight--he's still a skinny little thing!). He had a vet check before I picked him up on Sunday and got a "stamp of approval", any thoughts??
As of today (saturday oct. 14), I've had him for 6 days. I got him last sunday. I spoke to the woman I adopted him from, and she said that he always had "normal" ferret poo when she had him. His stools are still soft, not as runny, but still softer than they should be.

Well, it is still very early.
If you're planning on taking him to your vet for an initial exam, it wouldn't hurt to get a fecal done to check for parasites, but I wouldn't be concerned for another week or two.
He is eating very well and has taken well to his new food and is drinking adequate water, so in that aspect he is doing fine. His behavior and outward appearance is healthy, its just his stools. I'll give it a week or so and see how he is doing!
