Hi, I just thought I'd introduce myself. My hubby and I volunteer with the Small Animal Rescue up here in Vancouver BC. We are currently food slaves to 4 dogs and 2 ferrets. Rotti named Ilka who thinks she is a lap dog, Belguim Shep/Border Collie named Java (rescue), Border Collies Magpie and Bluejay (rescues) Our fuzzies are JP and Niki who were failed fosters from our rescue. JP is about 2 yrs old and was kept in basically a hamster cage on a porch and Niki who escaped out of the house and ended up at the local pound who called us to get her. It was over a week before the owner noticed her missing. She was out on her own for a week, her fur was yucky, she was skinny beyond belief (she is small to start with weighing only 500grams). Both are enjoying a very happy and spoiled life now and are our babies. I'm an army medic and my other half is a critical care nurse. It is nice to see so many people doing such great jobs looking out for our orphaned friends.
