RE: Managementby Flager (no login)
[First I dont base all of my decisions on just stats,
second dont call me mam.]
Sorry, just trying to be polite.
[I saw alot of puck turning over last year and not by just one player.]
I didn't say it was just one player, however, watching the team play, it seemed like Mr. Buckley turned it over a bit more the others. Of course, that might be my misconception based on the fact that he had it a whole lot more then others.
[My point was that it takes a whole team and some people are bound and determined to make it one player.]
Then again, one player can undermine a whole team, cause disruptions in the clubhouse and the like. Mind, I'm not accusing Mr. Buckley of that, I'm just stating it for the record.
[As far as Flemming goes, I do believe he was a big part of the problem for whatever reason it was. I think there was a personality conflict with more than one player and I hope whatever the whole picture was, it will be gone this season.]
My guess would be that for that to happen, Coach Fleming would have to be gone as well. From what I've heard tell, he's not always the easiest man to get along with. Not that he's ever been rude to me or my Missus, mind. I'm just saying, I've heard he isn't always the pleasant easy going guy that he shows to the public around here. I also didn't say that you said he wasn't part of the problem. Just pointing out that some the fine folks on this mailing list said that.
Don't know about you, but I'm sure Coach Fleming has seen a lot more hockey then I have, and it much more better qualified to make these decisions then I am, so I'm not second guessing the man. I'm just stating that maybe some of the rest of us shouldn't go flying off the handle because they don't happen to like a decsion the man made. He made plenty of decisions I didn't like...sure as heck didn't like to see Mr. Demarski go in a trade, and that Mr. Payne too, but I'm not gonna say it was a bad deal. I'm sure that Mr. Ruff has a lot to offer this team, and so I'm happy to have him for that.
[It just so happens I like to watch Buckley play and that does not mean I am a die hard Buckley fan, but there could be alot of factors that caused him to not play the way he has in the past. BUT, if the stats have him the leader in areas, what does that say for the other players. Buckey was not on the ice the entire game.]
If you're not a die hard fan, then why do you protected him so much. Do you at all acknowledge that he has any sortcomings, or do you think he's just the most perfect player ever to take the ice down here? Do you honestly think we couldn't have a winning team without him? Were you around in the first season when he wasn't here? If so, what do you attribute that team's success to? It seems to me by your posting here that you seem to think that if it wasn't for Mr. Buckley, we'd be down in the bottom of the league ever single year. But that wasn't the case.
You quote his stats. You say you like to watch him play. I do too, when he is playing well. But like I said, there are nights when he's a better player for the other team then he is for ours. Don't rightly know, but them might have been the nights he was having his disagreements with Coach Fleming.
No need to get angry just cause no all of us agree with your opinion. My understand was that this was on open forum and we all the right to express our views as long as we didn't get nasty about it.
Too bad that here Booster club forum died down. The people here was a lot more pleasant the some of the ones posting here.
