"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising them the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over a loose fiscal responsibility, always followed by a dictatorship."
- Alexander Tyler, (in his 1770 book, Cycle of Democracy)
"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled…was convincing the world that he didn’t exist."
- Kevin Spacey, from the movie "The Usual Suspects"
It’s all around. There’s no way to refute, or even resist the tsunami of misinformation. Those who try are gutted for sport. Ideological differences are the next concept headed for "the ash heap of history." Time is short. Arm yourselves, in every sense.
On a lazy Sunday morn, my wife and I grabbed some note-taking gear and fashioned our own media "scorecard." We wanted to record television’s subtle digs at our relatively straightforward system of values. Our modest abode harbors no candidates for sainthood, but neither are there any outstanding arrest warrants. In humble earnest we began tallying the "talking head" shows…and within a half-hour had run out of paper, ink and sensibility. The lies and innuendo pile up so quickly that our experiment became a laughing jag. Thankfully, one immutable fact became apparent as the day progressed. We’re called "the Right" for a reason.
We’re right about adherence to the rule of law, and strict interpretation of founding principles. We’re right about reliance on and respect for a higher power. We’re right about character, i.e. how you act when no one is watching, being an enormous issue with regard to public service. And we’re right to stand toe-to-toe with those who attempt subversion of these principles. There are three steps toward vigorous defense of a belief system. First, you must have an unwavering faith in the fortitude of the position, and not necessarily those espousing it. Second, you must understand everything about your opponent’s beliefs, as well as your own. Finally you must be prepared to obliterate anything even remotely associated with their ideology, so as to prevent its rebirth. Loosely interpreted, this is war…and the other side wants your head.
Liberals are unfailingly caustic and dismissive. When the legitimacy of the left’s ideas or policies are brought into question, the company line is to summarily waive any of the opposition’s credibility rather than defend their untenable positions. The Democratic Party is now renowned for lack of discipline, and yet lockstep is audible when rebuffing attempts to expose their shortsighted schemes. Talking points are carefully crafted and never abandoned. To do so would reveal the soft underbelly of the liberal notion, namely its callous assault on traditionalism. The left’s deft use of language, spawned from their love of litigation, is at once facile and jagged. They have a penchant for sedition with seemingly benign yet effectively incendiary remarks that trigger visceral rather than reasoned discourse. This practice has even given seed to a marketable brand of untruth. With a wink and a nod, the elite media has cajoled the acceptance of "spin." To call an outright lie a "spin" is to discredit the entire purpose of public relations. But when this machination is illuminated for the public, those attempting to foil perversion of truth are savaged. How does the left have such an enormous capacity for deceit?
It is because they have killed God. Very efficiently, with malice aforethought, liberalism has sought to destroy the cornerstone of our nation’s sovereignty. They have done this by attacking the perceptions of the young, and marginalizing the sanctity of human life. It started with the "emanation from the penumbra" that church and state should be separate. What followed can be found in The Extremist’s Guide to Moral Relativism. Liberals argued that school children shouldn’t be "forced" to pray, or be subjected to Creationism, or be allowed to show a public acknowledgement of belief. The next steps are unfolding before our eyes, as students are now being encouraged NOT to learn through outcome-based education. They are sedated when too energetic, and labeled when too problematic. Recent capitulation from the now ultra-cautious Right has allowed the infidels to gain a foothold on state-sponsored infanticide and eugenics. Every hour of every day there is liberal-subsidized stimulus that programs our children to abandon every ideal that built this miraculous Republic. By insisting there is no God, the left has disarmed our youth from considering the possibility of anti-God. Conservatives are fighting hard within the rules to offset this anomaly. What they are realizing, at this tragically late stage, is that liberals discarded the rules the moment Franklin Roosevelt discovered the joy of the Executive Order.
For fifty years, veiled socialism ruled the corridors of power in Washington. It was only in 1994 that the slumbering giant of patriotism swept aside graft and gall. In the post-Hillarycare age of Democratic politics the architects of our country’s eventual destruction have learned that they can move much quicker without the yoke of accountability. They have taken to the trenches by fostering racial hatred and class envy, and solidified their uneducated base through fear and manipulation. Over the next two years they will speak in dulcet tones of the Right’s disdain for the common man, of their contempt for the person of color. They will hint that tax cuts are a shell game for the rich, that school choice will only destroy morale, and that missile defense is objectionable to our gentle Chinese neighbors. By the year 2002, the most egregious renegades of social experimentation will line up to exact revenge for their fabricated "disenfranchisement." The Right will be swept from office, and in 2004 George W. Bush will pay for the crime of winning the previous Presidential election. From there, the end will come rather quick and painfully. It will end during a Clinton presidency. This is our fate if we do not fight the insidious dichotomy of liberalism to the death, through all available means.
If History has taught us anything, it is that memories create persona. By revising and in many cases discarding our nation’s collective memory, liberalism has destroyed the merit and method for progress. They’ve done it by whispering to their citizenry that God doesn’t work here anymore. It makes one wonder whose voice is doing the whispering.
Yes the innuendo, lies and character assininations are everywhere. Recently on TV I saw an ad for a radio station that showed a cross and beside it the word "crutch". We have in most parts of the world dictatorships and in Canada an elected dictatorship, elected for a fixed term of office with the so called alternative parties being a carbon copy of the one in power. The back bench members of government party are no-bodys, they just fill out the seats and blindly vote with the government party without conscience in the hope of joining the inner circle one day. The bible warns us that satan goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, so it is no suprise that he uses the trick that he does'nt exist to this end.
